Brine Lacrosse Gloves Recalled For Lead Contamination

Brine, a manufacturer of lacrosse gloves in Warren, Mich., has recalled about 7,000 pairs of its VIP Lacrosse Gloves because of suspected lead contamination in the paint used to decorate them.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commisssion and Health Canada announced the voluntary recall, which targets Brine’s Youth and Adult VIP Lacrosse Gloves. The black-and-white gloves are sold in three sizes–10, 12 and 13 inches–and the name Brine and a silver triad symbol are printed on the backs of the items. Screen printing ink used for the triad logo allegedly contains excessive levels of lead in violation of federal standards.
