Peppard is Senior Vice President and Manager of Wright’s NYSIR program. Formerly, he served as a Regional Manager of Marketing and Subscriber Support for NYSIR member school districts in Rockland, Putnam, Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk counties. He joined WRM in 2003 as a litigation examiner for NYSIR, and previously had been employed with State Farm Insurance for five years as a liability claim specialist. Peppard graduated with a degree in business from Molloy College and holds a New York State Broker’s license, as well as designations in claims law. He also is pursuing his CPCU designation.

Bambino is Executive Vice President of Risk Management.  He has been involved with the NYSIR program since its second year of operation.  He currently supports the NYSIR working with subscribers on risk transfer and general safety issues; member of the Operations Committee; and as a technical resource for the program.  He received his B.A. from Hofstra University in 1975, the CPCU designation in 1988 and the ARM designation in 2004.  Bambino also is an instructor at Hofstra University, where he teaches insurance risk management courses in the University College for Continuing Education.  He has published articles on risk management and spoken before numerous groups on risk management and other insurance-related topics.

As a Vice President and Director of NYSIR Marketing and Subscriber Support, Weinstein is currently responsible for the oversight of NYSIR’s marketing team statewide.  A specialist in school district and BOCES insurance coverage, he previously served as NYSIR’s underwriting manager upon joining WRM in 1991.  He has cultivated and maintained long-term relationships with NYSIR subscribers, contributed directly to NYSIR’s exceptional annual renewal retention rate, the expansion of new coverage’s and services for NYSIR members, and to NYSIR’s steady increase in new business growth.  Weinstein holds a New York State property & casualty insurance broker’s license and is certified as an Associate in Underwriting NY the Insurance Institute of America.  His 30+ years of insurance experience have included underwriting and senior training positions with AIG, AFIA and CIGNA.  He’s a graduate of the State University of New York at Oneonta.

Calame is Senior Vice President and Claims Manager and supervises administration and handling of property and casualty claims, including determination of coverage, reserve setting, litigation management, claims disposition, managerial reporting and claims auditing. He also manages property, casualty and professional liability claims for NYSIR and NYMIR. Between them, those two programs include in excess of $40 million in reserves and process an average of 3,000 claims each year. Calame is a graduate of St. John’s University and brings more than 25 years of claims management experience to his position.

Falcone is Senior Vice President of Claims for WRM and claims manager for NYSIR. He received his B.S. in business administration from SUNY Oswego and has earned the CPCU designation. Falcone has more than 25 years of insurance experience, specializing in the management of property and casualty claims for both commercial and personal lines of business. He has had extensive experience with major insurers such as Royal Insurance, American International and Continental Insurance Company, and is responsible for reserve posture, file direction and ultimate closing strategy.

Weber is Managing Claims Counsel in the company’s Professional Liability Department. She is an attorney and currently manages professional liability/errors and omissions claims and coverage issues for NYSIR. In that capacity, she supervises litigation brought against schools throughout New York State in the areas of employment discrimination and civil rights concerns. She also serves as a member of WRM’s Claims Committee, which oversees claims and coverage issues, and participates in risk management initiatives. Prior to joining WRM, Weber worked in insurance litigation defense in various practice areas. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from St. John’s University and a J.D. from Hofstra University School of Law.

Black is the Vice President of Underwriting. Mr. Black has been in the insurance profession for over 25 years. His experience includes management positions at a large regional managing general agent, where he had underwriting authority for multiple regional and national insurance carriers. Fred also has worked on the brokerage side of the industry as a Senior Account Manager at a firm that specialized in risk assessment and insurance placement for global media corporations. While at the Wright Risk Management, he has been a Senior Underwriter for both the Municipal and the School Reciprocals. He has been the NYSIR Underwriting Manager for over 10 years. His responsibilities include preparing rate and forms filings, assisting in reinsurance placement, developing new school specific coverage forms, and serving on the NYSIR Board of Governors Operations Committee.

Hawk is a Regional Manager for Marketing and Subscriber Support based in the Buffalo/Rochester region and is responsible for the coordination and administration of services to all NYSIR clients in western New York. During a 25-year career with St. Paul Fire and Marine, State Farm and Chubb, Hawk developed a broad range of insurance expertise in carrier, agency, sales and territorial management. He holds a New York State broker’s license, a Certified School of Risk Managers designation, a Casualty Claims Law Associate certification, and is a New York State Certified Continuing Insurance Education instructor.

Carruthers is NYSIR’s Director of Risk Management. He has 32 years of diverse, professional safety, security and risk management experience, the last 18 years of which have been spent with NYSIR. He is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), and has served ASSE as an officer at the local, regional and national levels. Carruthers graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Safety Sciences and a minor in human resources management.

Phillips is Regional Manager in the Capital District, responsible for the coordination and administration of services to NYSIR clients in Eastern New York. He has a BA from Bates College and holds numerous insurance designations including Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter, Associate in Claims, and Senior Claims Law Associate. Phillips has decades of experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry. He holds a New York State Broker’s license and looks forward to assisting both present and future NYSIR members in their understanding of comprehensive and cost effective insurance coverage.

Ward is NYSIR’s Long Island Regional Manager for Subscriber Support and Marketing.  She is responsible for the coordination and administration of services to all NYSIR subscribers in Nassau and Suffolk counties. Ward has been associated with Wright Risk Management since 1994 and, as NYSIR’s Client Services Manager for 14 years, led the Wright Public Entity client service team in support of school districts, BOCES’ and municipalities throughout New York State. She holds a B.A. degree from Adelphi University.

Hoffman is the Regional Manager of Marketing and Subscriber Support for NYSIR member school districts in Rockland, Putnam and Westchester counties. Before joining WRM, Hoffman managed risk and litigation for a high-end technology company whose main product involved securing confidential verbal communication with clients. He worked with the CEO/founder on building a Legal Affairs Division, a unit Hoffman later staffed, trained and managed as vice president. He is the recipient of a B.S. in Business Communication from Florida State University and a J.D. from Rutgers-Newark. He holds a New York broker’s license for property and casualty insurance, as well a broker’s license for life, accident and health insurance. He is currently pursuing his CSRM designation.

 

Andrew Graham, ARM

Graham is the Managing Director, Risk Management Services for WRM and has oversight responsibility for the NYSIR risk management team.  He also participates as a member of the Operations Committee, has risk transfer response responsibilities, provides safety consulting on specific issues and works directly with several lower Westchester subscribers.  He received his BS from Cornell University and has earned the ARM designation.  Graham came to WRM in 2010 with over 20 years of experience in Safety/Risk Management with positions of increasing responsibility at Liberty Mutual and Aon Risk Services along with a stint at a smaller niche broker.
